Totally guessing but it is likely a last ditch effort to recover some % of cost of those SAAB cars on the lot before they get out of the SAAB car selling business
Before bankruptcy protection ends in Sweden, and the 11/15 deadline on the chinese offer expires, and creditors refusing to offer further concessions completely walk away or sue the company... probably not a bad idea to get out of the Saab dealer business completely
WARNING RANT AHEAD:
The Dutch and Swedish leadership of this car company have utterly failed to impress and were so completely unprepared and ineffective to restart a sustainable business they should be held accountable 100%. The handling of the sale now is a perfect representation of their future performance... piss poor.
The Swedish government and private money walked away from Saab last year so now it's just a brand. Any proprietary SAAB technology probably will remain in GM's hands with GM's fear that selling everything will compromise/ undermine the desire to market their own brands and grow the business in China. The Dutch company failed. GM should now walk away and nuke the remains. I agree that the brand should die before fire sale to a couple questionable pseudo government owned car businesses.

"Swedish Automobile NV, the Dutch owner of Saab Automobile, may liquidate even if it succeeds in selling the former General Motors Co. brand, as the proceeds may not be enough to pay off creditors"
