I've posted earlier about my insurance nightmare involving having my '89 900S wrecked by a USAA driver. Without my consent they closed my claim and issued me a check for the amount that I was contesting.
How did they do this? They sent me a letter dated November 4 that said:
"If we don't hear from you by November 10 we'll assume your claim has been concluded to your satisfaction"
The only problem is that I received this letter on November 12. I just called up and spoke to someone at the company who informed that the adjuster that I was working with sent me a check on November 11 for the amount which was originally offered to me and I rejected. I should also note this adjuster did not return a single voicemail that I left last week.
USAA plays dirty. Looks like the next step is to file a formal complaint with the Kentucky Department of Insurance and to take USAA to court for the rest of the settlement.
