I don't really disagree with you, except to point out that the "free market" internet build-out was hardly ideal + efficient! lots of customers lying to suppliers + lots of money wasted...
usually nowadays, there is a bidding process for infrastructure projects, though, it is true, that there can be questionable "wins"...
I've only seen 1 volt on the road. Looks like a (slightly) glorified Chevy + I can see why it's not selling great for $45k... there are a lot of better options for that money... that said, I feel the same re the Prius... I do like what Saab was doing with the eAAM stuff on the 9-3, and I hope that does come to some sort of fruition once all the bankruptcy proceedings sort themselves out! The video of that eAAM 9-3 powering up a steep snowy hill (that the normal 9-3 was hopeless tackling) was very impressive!
