My experience with Moog suspension parts Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Thu, 13 Dec 2012 08:43:18 In Reply to: related question on moog..., Snowmobile [Profile/Gallery] , Thu, 13 Dec 2012 06:38:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
A few years ago I got some Moog balljoints for my 9000 from Eeuroparts. They arrived in Moog boxes and had "MOOG" laser etched on the flat metal sheet on the bottom of the part, but I noticed that the part did not have the little extension at the top to hold a snap ring retainer as the OEM part did. These ball joints wore out to the point of making noise in less than two years (and about 18,000 miles); I took them off the car and cut open the rubber boot to find nothing resembling grease inside. This poor performance was quite a surprise as Moog had been a well-regarded US brand in the past. My guess is that these were a rebranded part manufactured by some other supplier.
You may have done OK by receiving Febi parts instead. Eeuro has a one-year guarantee, so they wouldn't do anything about this situation.
