First of all, not all items on Amazon are sold by Amazon - many are just sold by third party sellers (kinda like ebay).
Second, they clearly state that those items from China take up to 4 weeks to deliver. I deal with it all the time and make decisions one way or another. You can pay $8 for a cable and have it delivered in 2 days or your can pay 1/4 of this amount and have the same cable in 3 weeks - it is your choice. Just pay attention when ordering.
Tracking does not often work on those Chinese shipments. Do you really expect a tracking information when paying $2 for something including shipping.
Amazon is great once you understand how it works. The only problem is that it is putting a lot of b&m stores out of business - but the blame should be shared with consumers and legislation as well.
