Okay folks, I'm pretty good at server management, but I seem to have stumped myself, everyone I know, and Google with this question. Maybe someone here knows?
Here's the scenario: we have a file server running Windows Server 2008 with shadow copies (aka "previous versions" of files) enabled. The server is going to be rebuilt, and I'd like to preserve the files *with* the "previous versions" if at all possible, while copying them off to a tape via Backup Exec, and/or to another hard drive.
It seems like this somehow should be possible, but I can't figure out how. Do any of you geeks have any insight into this?
If it matters, the server is going to be rebuilt with a newer version of Windows: 2012 R2.
