I do it as sometimes I hit the wiper arm control inadvertently, and the blades are stuck to the windscreen. One time the wiper transmission gave up, it was a PITA to get the car to a place I could repair it. We have "winter mix" which is everything under the sun and moon, the blade become one with mother nature, gluing them in place for months........
