WD-40 and a soft cloth.... I have found that WD-40, LPS 1, or similar "spray lubricants" are actually about 80% Stoddard solvent and 20% light petroleum oil/rust preventative.
I turn on the radio, then spray some WD-40 onto a soft cloth. Wipe the antennea until it is clean, turning the cloth as needed. Turn off the radio. Repeat process a couple times as the antennea will pick-up grease/grit from the inside of the segments as it is being retracted. This has worked well for my cars for years.
