The M2 was considered the press version of the M3. The M3 had bright frame lines for 50, 90 & 135 lenses. the M2 had 35, 50 & 90. The M4 had bright frame lines for all 4 lenses.
I would suggest having the lens professionally cleaned. Taking a lens apart is best left to pros.
As far as the body is concerned, if you get a consistent sound of the shutter timer at 1 sec it is usually ok. It would be worth having it professionally cleaned if necessary.
A tip for exposure calculation: It's called the "sunny 16" method. Set your shutter speed to the number closest to the film speed (eg. 1/125 sec for ISO 100). Then use the following scale
Bright sun with distinct shadows f:16
diffused sun with soft shadows f:11
open shade f:8
Experiment a bit and you'll do just as well without a meter.
You could also look in used camera shops for a "Leicameter MR". It clips to the accessory shoe and couples to the shutter speed dial. You press a button on the side and it takes a light reading. The metering area is the same as the 90mm lens (push the lever on the left front of the camera to change the frame manually)
Leica lenses are pretty easy to find in used camera shops. New ones are EXPENSIVE.
I have an M2, an M4, and 21, 35, 50, 90 & 135 lenses. I also have a Hasselblad 500C/M, a Rolleiflex 2.8F and an old Crown Graphic.
