3M hand glaze is a filler not a polish. It will make your paint finish look "wet" by filling all minor surface imperfections and hiding them from view. It will remove wax but that is not it's purpose. Before you use the product remove any existing wax by washing the car in diswashing detergent. Do not let the dishwashing detergent mixture dry on the car and do not wash in the sun. After removing the wax you should polish the surface with a good polish and then apply the 3M hand glaze. Follow with a coat of wax with a high carnuba wax content. The 3M product will not remove(by filling) swirl marks or scratches on your paint that you can feel when you lightly cross them with your fingernail. The product has a very short lifespan if not coated with wax and once it is removed by repeated washings your swirls and scratches will return because they are no longer filled. But it looks great if you keep reapplying. It is an excellent way to make black cars dazzle. Good luck.
