Still no black car for you!
Couldn't keep one clean in Seattle and now you sure don't want one in that hot NM sun.
I too transplanted from Seattle to the sunbelt (California) and traded an eternally dirty for a hot one. White is great, as are the light metallic colors, for keeping things cooler inside. The newest Saabs also have very effective solar glass; as a result they absorb noticeably less heat than older models. e.g., My silver 9-5 is cooler than my white 9000 was when parked in 100 plus deg. sun.
A dark interior *will* absorb more heat any time the sunlight hits the seats directly (e.g., through a side window). The first time you experience this phenomenon while wearing shorts will be a near-religious experience. Get a windshield screen and, if you can find them, louvers for the hatch glass. If you're getting a notchback a rollup screen is a good alternative. And be prepared, the c900 AC system is pretty wimpy.
Enjoy the desert.
