I was driving from Lake Tahoe to Las Vegas. In my 88-900 turbo, I had a 2 gallon reserve in my trunk for situation just like this, anyway i drove across the desert until she started to stall a bit,so I pull over and pour the extra 2 gallons in.At this point i'm thinking we need to get to a gas station soon. About 50 miles later she just dies out,the tank was bone dry. So I let her coast as far as she would go.We jump out, push her over to the side, thank god the sun had just risen,or we would have been screwed big time, about a half hour goes by and not a damn car in sight. Desert all around us, I start thinking that we are gonna die out here. Eventually a pick up drives by and we wave him down, Luck has it he had an extra 10 gallon tank in the back so we grab it and put about 2 gallons in,he said it would be enough to get to the gas station. I was like are you sure i dont see anything, are you sure we are gonna make it. "Ofcourse thats plenty" he says,so we are back in business. Finally we can see the gas station but its still really far away. And we are running real low on fuel, the light was on and everything. next thing i know the car shut off and were out of fuel again. This time it really sucked cause i could tatse victory, So we get out and start walking,a car rolls by a little bit later and slows to a stop, "hey you guys need a lift to the gas station?" a voice shouts from the car and we are like hell yeah,he drives us to the gas station and drops us off. It was about 3 miles, now we are faced with getting back to the car with the gas, then these 2 guys roll up to the gas station on Harleys and are headed our way-so we hop on the back and are back to our car in no time and that was enough for one day,we finally made it to vegas and crashed out for about 15hrs in a friends house.
