The "new" Mini is not some throwback to a bygone era. This is not some cheesey attempt at capturing or recreating the past (like the beatle) this is simply a redesign of a car currently in production. Unlike the "new" Beatle, MG-F, Triumph bikes, Bugatti and so on the Mini has not been out of production. In England you can buy a 2000 mini that you would consider the "old" style. Since when is last year considered retro? Just becuase the old hasn't been available in the US dosen't make the new one a copy cat. SAAB has design clues that run from the 92 all the way up to the 9-3 and 9-5. Are SAAB designers just schilling out retro crap? Any piss and vinegar you throw at the new Mini you better throw at SAAB becuase when you think about it the C900 is really just a copy of the 99. Bunch of lazy Swedes!
