Service intervals: Anyone do it!

It seems like the service intervals are a scam!! I did the first one (free) and the rest myself. Had synthetic put in the tranny by Saab, drive the clutch easy and spare the brakes. I can adjust the bulbs and little stuff myself and save $300 to 500 in the process. Not having them done CANNOT void the warranty contrary to popular belief! My car is a 1995 (60mi) uses Mobil 1 since birth, and is flawless without paying for these service intervals. And with the SS exhaust, I sound, well, pretty hip! I believe I have saved about $2000 in unnecessary service...sounds good to me!
