I test my fluids about once a year and set up a schedule that matches my driving habits. Sythetic oil does not "go" bad, the additives in it break down and it gets cotaminated. What you have to do is check for viscosity and acidity. There are kits to do this your self. I have found around 8500 miles on the motor oil and 40,000 on the manual tranny for my 900 turbo (450,000 miles) and half that for my 9K non-T(150,000 miles). I drive them different. The problem with brake fluid is moisture, that will depend on where you live, more a calender thing than miles. Watch for a color change. I flush mine once a year here in Georgia. Anti-freeze will also loose its additives, I go 3 years (half what it says on the "long life" bottle) and make darn sure it says Phosfate-Free, cause if it don't aluminun heads are expensive. Aluminum safe has not proven that to me! A "B" motor head, if you can find one is over $800 new (bare)
