I pulled this from the attached link. Say it ain't so....
"SAAB
9-3: GM, which now owns all of Saab Automobile AB, is moving the Saab 9-3 to GM’s upcoming Epsilon global mid-sized car platform. The 9-3 will be the first GM vehicle to come off of the new platform."
The all-new 9-3 will go into production in late 2001 in Sweden and will debut a few months later in North America as a 2003 model. A Saab roadster could be another spinoff.
A year after the 9-3’s debut, following the pattern of the 9-5 launch, Saab will launch a sport-wagon version with awd as a 2004 model.
GM officials say five to eight Saab models — primarily variations of the 9-3, and possibly the 9-5 replacement — will be built on Epsilon.
9-5: An all-new 9-5, which also could be based on the Epsilon platform, won’t debut until after the 2004 model year. The present 9-5 will get a facelift before then.
Sport-utility: Saab will get a version of the upcoming 2002 Buick Rendezvous sport wagon in early- to mid-2003 as a 2004 model. The vehicle will have awd and probably a third-row seat, like the Rendezvous.
The Saab sport-utility will be built at GM’s plant in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, alongside the Rendezvous and its sibling, the Pontiac Aztek.
The vehicles are based on GM’s fwd minivan platform. But unlike the Rendezvous and Aztek, which feature GM’s 3.4-liter V-6 engine, the Saab vehicle likely will get a turbocharged Saab 3.0-liter V-6 engine."
