When it comes to the all new 9-5, it will not be based on the epsilon platform. The SAAB technicians wanted a platform that will make SAAB able to compete with the BMW 7-series and Mercedes S-class. The Epsilon platform just aren't good enough if SAAB is going to compete on this level. There SAAB technicians in Sweden are working on an all new platform, which also is intendet for Alfa Romeo and Lancia.
