Is timing belt failure a common problem with the V6? My '95 900 SE V6 has only ca. 52,000 miles on it but is already on its fourth belt. The first one fell off (ostensibly due to a faulty water pump bearing) at 20,000 miles. All repairs (and towing) were covered under the warranty. The second belt was replaced as part of the scheduled 35,000-mile maintenance. At 47,000 miles, I was told I needed yet another. (Also, the belt tensioner has been replaced twice.) Should I expect to have to replace the belt every 10-15,000 miles for the rest of the (hopefully long) life of the car??
Other problems: The AC compressor switch went bad at 35,000 miles and again at 41,000 miles, and now appears to have done so for a third time (haven't taken it in for repair yet--am hoping it's nothing more serious than the switch). Is this unusual? And does anyone know anything about the track record of TCS motors? Mine had to be replaced at just 15,000 miles and the repair guy made a veiled remark about frequent problems with these.
Thanks,
Jan
