My sentiments exactly. Just think of all the changes in SAAB during the GM era-the Trionic ECU, 2 complete model changes (NG900 and 9-5), 9000/9-5 Aero and 9-3 Viggen variants, a wagon, initial quality in the top 10, more concept models (two) in the past year than in the previous 49, innovations like the SAHR headrests, vented seats, asymmetrical turboV6 engine, night panel display, etc.
The list goes on and on. I seriously doubt SAAB would be where they are today without the GM bailout. I've heard C900 and 9k owners whine and complain that SAAB is losing its "distinctiveness" or "uniqueness." That remains to be seen. But SAAB was heading toward extinction and a mere footnote in the annals of automotive history had it stayed on its original course.
