Being from Nova Scotia, I assume you appreciate maritime environments. La Bretagne (Brittany in English I guess), which starts at the North with Saint Malo and extends down the coast, is fabulous. Great food, good wine, quaint harbours, maritime museums, colours have inspired Gauguin and other great artists. Makes for stunning photography. The list goes on. Canals in France are also very interesting but time consuming. You can visit practically all of France, excluding the Alps of course, navigating through the rich architectural history of France on a rented «péniche», on which you can bring bicycles. When are you going?
