GM made the announcement that they wanted to bring Alfa back to the US starting with the all new Spyder in 03 as an 04 model only hours after they inked the deal w/FIAT to buy 20% of their car division. Howerver manufacturing issues have pushed back the new Spyder to 04. After the Spyder they want to start bringing over the 166 and 156 as well. I doubt they'll bring over the hot little 147 though :(
GM has no plans on bringing FIAT or Lancia cars back to the US.
FIAT split Ferrari away from the FIAT car division and it was not part of the GM purchase.
FIAT will option the forced buyout in the contract (just like SAAB did in 2000) sometime in either 04 or 05.
GM's currently has.... (in alphabetical order) Alfa Romeo, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Daewoo, Fiat, Holden, Hummer, Lancia, Oldsmobile (for the next few months anyway), Opel, Pontiac, Saab, Saturn, Subabru and Vauxhall. Did I miss anyone?
