Actually, modern Saab Turbo engines run a 9.25:1 compression ratio, and VWs run a 9.5:1 ratio (in the 1.8T). I'm not readily aware of many modern production engines which run an 11:1 CR - the S2000 is one of the few. Most gas-engined cars run in the area of 9.5:1 through 10.5:1, excepting of course turbo and supercharged cars, which often run much lower....
