taking someone else's concept and improving it. They started with the DKW 2-stroke and made it their own. Same thing with the Ford V4,the Triumph 4-cylinder,turbocharging and electronic engine management.
All of this comes from being the underdog, small guys in remote Sweden and making more with less. The new 9-3SS just continues the tradition by taking a GM "platform" and improving it with a stiffer structure and better suspension. This tradition also applies to the new engine. Take the GM block add a unique Saab head, turbocharging and engine management system and you have something special.
It's just a continuation of the great Saab tradition of improving someone else's starting point.
