I stopped by my local dealer yesterday to see if the Vector was in (maybe next week!) and was really impressed with the response to the new 9-3SS. He said he can't keep them in stock. And I sat in one again and it is starting to make sense to me. I've seen them now around Chicago's trendiest neighborhoods in the ubiquitous silver, but also in red and bluse and dolphin grey and they look hot! They've got a simplicity bordering on the simplicity perfected by the VX bug, though I actually can't stand that car. But what I mean is that the new 9-3SS is cool, and is is amazingly different that my 9-5. I've kep thinking that no matter what, my 9-5 is better than the new model but it looks dated sitting next to it. The 9-3SS looks simple and fresh and if they can bring on the new products at the rate that the original poster noted all I have to say is that the brand will survive. Infiniti is the ulitimate upscale "suburban" car company, but Saab has room to be the "city" nice guys with the playful streak, not like the arrogant bmw or the snotty mercedes. A new 9-3X, a small wagon, and even a an SUV will keep Saab on the map. i have confidence, after spending more time with the 9-3SS, that their designers know what they're doing. And I have confidence that SAAB USA, as a marketer and importer is livening the brand up in the US. And this is key to Saab's survival.
