She loves it.
They are nimble and easy to drive.
25,000 and nothing has gone wrong.
Great for weekend get aways. (We camp out in ours)
Driving to work leaves a smile on your face.
Strong club following. (Iowa has 3 clubs)
Fast at the Auto-x. (she lets me borrow it)
Plenty of after-market parts. (unlike Saab)
Top goes down and up in seconds from within the car.
Acts as a good reminder to use the birth control.
As for a Miatas abilities in bad weather is totally dependant on the tires. OEM tires are dry weather only. I watched a Miata win the RWD class at a (for fun) SCCA snow event. Steel rims and Blizzaks on the Miata was faster then 4x4s with all-seasons.
They are fun cars. Just drive them defensively like a motorcycle. We pull next to Hummers and get sick to our stomaches.
