1990 Miata- It was the car I regretted giving up (until the Aero wagon came along!) They're great fun, cheap, easy to fix, handle very well (even better if you upgrade from the 14" factory wheels, I believe in later years you can get bigger wheels as a factory option)
They are excellent in the snow. The only car I've owned which was better in the snow is my Saab. Their balance makes them easy to manoever in the snow. and if they do let go they're easy to get back (actually, this is the case in the summer as well) If you're going to drive in the winter get the hard top.
There are plenty of fun clubs, some of them seem to be a bit cultish but that shouldn't be too unfamiliar! Since they're relatively inexpensive, but such a great car you tend to get a really interesting mix of people at the events.
My only complaints are a lack of a decent dome light (handy when it gets dark early in the winter) and I suppose the lack of space, but this really isn't the car to get if you need a lot of room!
This car makes a great toy for people who've been into motorcycles. A Miata's about the same price as a couple of bikes, its safer, and people used to travelling on two wheels don't usually mind the luggage limitations.
Now I kinda want mine back...
Get it,
Brad
