You can arrange to take one out for three days.
I have done that. Being a huge BMW fan, I was both impressed and disappointed.
Pros:
-- super fun to drive. RWD extremely obvious, excellent power, superior brakes, changes direction like a Miata
-- great interior, comfortable seats, feels like a real BMW (unlike the new X1)
-- range extender unnoticeable from inside the car
Cons:
-- stupid charge port location. Leaf does it so much batter, plus has terrific charge indicator LEDs visible from far away.
-- very darty, too bouncy, rough ride (although not nearly as bad as Leaf), nervous steering
-- not enough range... although they are fixing that for MY2017
-- IDIOTIC: lack of CHADEMO port, which is the one you want, since there are no SAE chargers at all. If it had a CHADEMO port, I would have bought one.
It is FAR better than Nissan Leaf as far as the drive. A Leaf can be bought for $7k slightly used, though. And it has a CHADEMO port, which makes it so easy to recharge, since there are so many CHADEMO chargers.
