I've found these to be generally durable engines, with two considerations to be aware of. One is the last timing belt change, as it may be due, and the PVC/flametrap may need overhauled/cleaned if it hasn't been. You can quickly test if there's a need by pulling off the oil fill on top of the valve cover, placing a latex exam glove over the cover and holding it down tightly. If it inflates like a balloon the car has PVC blockage and needs attention to that system, if it gets bad enough it can blow out seals and cause other issues. Hope this helps... Take Care, Scott
