IMHO the '98 '70 is one of the best Volvos built - solid, durable, and not a bad drive. A lot of similarities to the NG900/9-3 in build, a lot of the same maintenance needs.... Scott's suggestions are on-point in terms of must-do... after that, it's probably a lot of the same stuff you're used to, plus maybe slightly more risk of head gasket failure. These cars are pretty sensitive to ignition components, BTW, so stick with factory parts. My last '98 needed everything rubber from the a-pillars forward (vacuum hoses, suspension, engine mounts, etc.) but after that was done was completely reliable for a long time.
