I never saw myself in an SUV, I've always been a car guy. I needed the utility, especially after we sold our 2003 9-5 Linear Sportwagon (a rare one with premium and luxury packages, xenons, etc.).
The Cayenne drives more like a car than I could have ever imagined. I think the approach for the 9-7x is similar - a good handling SUV that is fun to drive. I like the Cayenne because it is more geared towards performance and less towards glitz and bling, like an Escalade.
And yes, I have opened the hood!
You should drive one!
