So on my way home from work passed a dealer with an 08 Speed3 sitting there and just on a whim turned in to check it out. The car has 10k miles on it and is the Sport trim priced at 21,500. Figure could talk them down a bit considering a new Speed3 in Sport trim only runs about ~25k.

Points to note:

The car is REALLY fast.

Has had some wrenching done on it: matching powdercoated induction piping, aftermarket 3 pod A-pillar, boost gauge, AFR gauge and oil pressure. 3in catback exhaust with mosquito muffler, and a BOV venting to the atmosphere realy cool woot sound. The clutch felt awfully heavy so dont know if they upgraded the clutch. Not sure if the ECU has been upgraded either.

The car is REALLY REALLY fast.

Probably owned by a younger person.

Now with those mods done Im assuming the manufacture warranty is out the window. Am I correct?

The car itself was amazingly taut with hardly any body roll in the curves. The seats are nicely bolstered and hold you in place very well. Touch the throttle and the response is immediate and forceful. Ride was firm but not overly firm for daily driving. Six speed tranny is closely spaced with short throws. Pretty sure that the top mount intercooler can be relocated to front mount to help avoid heatsoak.

It was REALLY REALLY REALLY fast.

SOOO my question is...should I be concerned with any other mods that may have been done that are unseen. Not that I dont have an indy that has excellent skills with turbocharged engines.

Did I mention that the car was fast???

I dont really need this car but would really like to have it. I just purchased an 01 Viggen Vert so I would have to get rid of my 03 9-5 Sportwagon.

Any opinions???Thoughts???Want to talk me out of it???Talk me into it???

Thanks Robert
