Genesis is really old news now. There are a few variants. One iteration "borrowed" several styling cues from the SAAB Aero X. Hyundai/KIA have done a lot of "borrowing" over the years, and SAAB has definitely been an influence for them... so I can see why some folks are switching to them - the PO of our 9-5 traded it on a Hyundai... and then I got the 9-5 for less than my neighbour paid for an only slightly newer elantra which is now rusting way more than the 9-5... the 9-5 is a heck of a lot more car than a mid-late 2000's elantra!
Anyway, yes, the 2.0T Genesis doesn't look that bad and would probably be pretty fun to drive. The Veloster doesn't look that bad either. The Genesis is probably significantly more refined than the veloster from what I've read but I've never driven either. The veneer is getting thinner, but I bet you'd notice some differences vs the european coupes... but for the price difference... I can see why many would go down that road, even if it is not for me... Hyundai/KIA have come a long way!
