on the Lexus but not the A8. Considering what it costs to maintain even the smallest Audis, one can only imagine what an A8 would cost. Actually a few months back I posted asking why no one on this board seems to consider a big Lexus as an alternative to Saabs. Admittedly my taste in cars has changed in recent years. I kind of like big, powerful "hairy chested" sedans like the MB S class, 7 series, Bentleys and yes the Lexus. Maintenance would make me pretty nervous on the Europeans, much less so with the Lexus. You could probably get more bang for your buck with a Jaguar, and they're supposed to be much more reliable, but I'd take a hard look first. If I were driving that far I'd think about a Suburban/Tahoe. They're roomy, relaxing to drive, cheap to maintain and run forever. They probably wouldn't get that much worse mileage than the Lexus if you watch your speed.
