I really like my 06 S60, with 104K. It is beautiful and drives the way it looks. Rock solid reliable. Decided to bite the bullet and pay for the big service, with timing belt etc.
Now to the point of my post. The dealer lent me a new V50 as a loaner - and I absolutely hated it. What really bothered me about it would probably bother me about any new near-luxury car - the dashboard was a disaster. Unlike my 06 - with a simple, clean and intuitive design - the V50 dash was so confusing and busy. Trying to do so many things, when most of that stuff was really unnecessary.
Perhaps I would get used to it after driving it awhile, but it was jarring. One benefit of that experience is now I cherish my S60 even more - hope it lasts forever so I never have to have a stupid TV screen ruining my dashboard. :-)
