Thanks for the additional input. Still prefer that Acura over accord, more for the unique factor. Also, you would be surprised that a loaded accord is not cheap. Still rings in at $30k with the 4cyl.
Not necessarily looking luxury, but would like to have leather, sunroof, good stereo and of course heated seats! Most brands require you get the totally loaded car to get those options.
So, it comes down to a basic lux model, or a loaded mid-size, which end up costing the same and has all the same stuff. What gave the Acura the edge over the honda for me was the tuned up engine that still gets 30+ mpg and has everything I'm looking for.
The new Subaru legacy has come a looooonnnggg way from older Subaru's. Still slow, but gone are the cheapo plastics and cramped interior. I liked the seats a lot, but definitely need to put more time in them to see if I really like them (seats are very important to me).
I'll admit that I am a car snob, and not that Saab is deserving of any hierarchy, but at least it was unique. Always felt like my best kept secret that only other Saab owners knew what a great car it was.
Out of my test driving the Acura was the first car that I liked the look, the feel and was reasonably fun to drive.
Also, don't forget, I just want a lease. So figure I'll go for the best car I can find in my range and worry about the next choice in 3 years, which could very well be me taking over my wife's pilot. Not much fun, but I have a feeling in a few years I may be willing to part with my Triumph bike to find an old 900 convertible to play with.
