My 87 900S got turbo'd this spring. It made it a lot more fun to drive. the low end is awesome because you have the higher compression ratio working for you and then the turbo just comes on instantly. It's no rocketship, but it's a hell of a lot better than driving a 900s...
Part wise, you just need the basic turbo things...
Turbocharger
Intercooler, IC piping
Exhaust manifold
Downpipe
Oil/water lines
water pump to radiator hose with the turbo water line hookup
you'll have to remove the plug from the block to run to oil return line to the turbo, also you have to plumb the oil send line in under the intake manifold, not hard with a universal joint.
I don't have an APC or turbo distributor, everything is controlled by the wastegate. Keep the boost under 8 psi, the compression ratio of a NA is 10.1:1 (i think) meaning you'll be more likely to blow a headgasket running more boost.
Also get a new radiator, my 900S one couldn't handle the increased temp of the turbo, wouldn't be a bad idea to go to an 82 degree fan switch and thermostat.
