Hello everyone,
After getting fed up with the annoying narrow band A/F gauge in my A pillar, the one with the 30 or so constantly sweeping LED lights...
... i have decided to get a wideband setup going in my 9000.
Not just for looks either, I'd like to get a whole datalogger system setup.
The Zt-2 system by http://www.zeitronix.com/ is the most logical choice for my needs... and since it's modular I can buy the core system now and add parts later as i have more money, but the entire kit is still relatively cheap i think, for what it does.
Anyways...
after reading the fine print in the installation manual, it says that the wideband sensor itself, made by bosch, cannot be placed in the stock sensor location, and another o2 bung should be welded about 16 inches AWAY from the turbo.
this is kind of a PIA... because this zeitronix unit can simulate a narrow band o2 output to the ECU, and i was looking forward to a plug and play operation of this sensor...
...but apparently, wideband sensors cannot deal with exhaust temps higher than 900 degrees c, accoring to the installation manual for this kit.
So, has anyone had experience in placing a secondary wideband o2 sensor in a 9000... older style.
how hot are the exhaust temps coming out of the turbo?
This kit also has an EGT sensor, but the sensor only senses up to 1200 degrees c... how hot does a saab engine run? hotter than this sensor can sense? I was looking forward to this kit but it seems like it might be off from what i need afterall.
any comments?
