That is kind of funny, I put my new arp studs in my b234 motor today and when I looked at it, I too realized you would have to place the head over the timing chain guides and then put the studs in place. That is what I did and I just put them in until they bottomed out. I did not know Dave's neat trick, oh well, its all torqued down and ready to go now.
