As an FYI - I had to take a b234 head off with arp studs in it. The arp studs had the internal 5mm (I believe that was the size) hex key. The 5mm internal hex key was not deep enought for me to get a good bite to crack them to take them out. In fact, I semi-stripped a couple of arp bolts. The only way I could figure out how to take these head bolts out was by having a body slightly lift the head while I stuck my arm and hand under the head and cracked the bolts with a vice-grip applied to the bolts. Can't say I was a happy camper during this process.
I would like to use these bolts again, however, I am not sure I understand what you are doing to correct the problem Dave. If I make an external hex key on the end of the bolt, I will effect the length of the bolt. I gather this could be a bad thing with regards to the aluminum head having enought bolt to let it expand. Do I understand correctly?
Furthermore, I don't understand the last part of your post when you say "When mine are completed the reduced porting looks the same on the bottom as it came from ARP on the top!" Are you willing to further explain your secret?
As always... TIA!
