Not Saab-specific Fuel Injection Question Posted by Justin VanAbrahams [Email] (#32) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Justin VanAbrahams) on Tue, 20 Nov 2007 11:26:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I was talking with a mechanic the other day about fuel injection in general, and without going into the gory details, I put forward the notion that - essentially - any given batch-fired injection system could fairly easily run another engine of similar characteristics without much hassle. Aside from actual installation issues (injectors, sensors, etc.), nothing would prevent - say - a Bosch LH 2.2 system running a Volvo 2.3l 740T from running a Ford 2.3l turbo. There would potentially be subtle issues resulting from differences in the length of the intake tract and other minor details, but no real roadblocks.
Does that sound about right?
The specific application here would be running 2.0l DOHC Alfas on Saab LH 2.4 2.0l injection...
