Biggest bang for the buck is a professionally done APC, I'm only familiar with the Erik P ones which are totally knock sensitive so they even work as a single upgrade however a 3 bar fuel pressure regulator would make a good APC box work even better. I've found on my early 9000's that Koni adjustable's work best especially with SAS sway bars. As far as a 3" exhaust the down-pipe and on back to the cat would do a lot more good than a 3" cat back system. Next would be a set of 34 lb per hr fuel injectors with one of JSP's ECU fuel chips or a special fuel pressure regulator like I built for one of my 9000's. These early 9000's with distributors have two problems ignition wise! One is that the diaphragm (on the distributor) retards under boost way too quickly and not enough plus approaching 4000 RPM advance needs to be reintroduced. There are electronic units available but I use my A.I.D. method for the retard problem and have Brad (George's Imports in Kansas City) modify the distributor for the advance problem. A custom T3/4 turbo with the right A/R ration and wheel sizes does wonders for these cars. Do you already have lowering springs to go with performance shocks and the SAS sway bars? Dave at SPG9.
