Hi drew,
check out the sample maps from sds
http://www.sdsefi.com/fuelmaps.htm
I've tuned engines before, but with piggyback systems that basically work with the stock fuel and ignition curves and change them a little...
i've never had full control and had to come up with every value from scratch...
thus i am here for advice.
In any case, anyone with a saab that can be tuned with the t5 or t7 suite still isn't tuning an engine from scratch either.... they're still building on the saab stock values, and based on the look of t5 suite, they've made it easy.
I like the SDS system, and it comes with a base timing map which should be safe for most 4cyl engines, but nothing that millions of dollars in research and development had worked out the kinks of...
...as saab and most other auto makers probably spend in dollars on test benches for engines and engine control software.
so yeah i'm not taking any chances with the sds preprogrammed values, i want them to mimic the stock saab values as close as possible... with changes to the fuel blah blah...
read SDS.com's sample maps... and see how they want you to do it...
