I'm well aware of the natural phase shifts that result from series wiring of speakers. The shift is a function of driver impedence, and can actually be used to your advantage if done right. However, I have never heard any discussion about this phase shift affecting dual voice coil subwoofers. Since it's a single driver, one would think that the effect will cancel itself out. No manufacturer that I know of recommends parallel wiring rather than series for DVC subs. All this is, of course, assuming that Bill's Focal is DVC, which I'm now not sure about.
