Yep, the SHURflo built-in pressure switch has the following specs:
- upper pressure limit set at 100 PSI
- turn on pressure 85 PSI +/- 5 PSI
This means that there will be some variation in the water supply, of course, but from what I can see by observing the water spray you really can't see/hear/measure the difference resulting from the variations in pressure. Adding an inline pressure regulator would certainly be possible.
The built-in shurflo switch appears to be quite simple and probably not that accurate. It is adjustable though and can be replaced with an external unit if necessary. The pump itself seems to be of a very good build quality and there are spares available for rebuilding it in the future.
I'll be controlling the solenoid valve with a Festo electronic pressure switch, will not go for the aquamist controller before I've tested with the dummy system first.
One thing that concerns me a bit at this stage is that the 0.5mm injector seems to be flowing at 400 milliliters per minute at 100PSI. That seems like a lot. According to the aquamist spec sheet it should be flowing at only 200 milliliters per min! Could it be that since aquamist has made the specs based on their own, oscillating pump design, that this kind of constant pressure pump will be able to squeeze much more water through the nozzle?
I'm probably going to lower the pressure a bit from the 100PSI to see how the water flow changes. Am I right in assumpting that about 300 milliliters would be ok for spraying at 13PSI and above?
