...not too sure on the gearbox details,
but it is $$$$$$$$$$$$$
made by Prodrive,computer-programmed to run at
different torque-splits,front to rear,depending
on track condition...
...maybe someone has more specifics?
...what I want to know about is Anders Norstedt's
early 90's AWD c900 European Rallycross Championship car!
Norstedt competed in traditional rallies, until 1976 when
he bought a V4 from Per Eklund to do Rallycross,he won
Group A ERC in 84,85 & 86(the latter 2 being won in c900)
The car was made by Norstedt himself along with Tommy Karlsson
of Trollspeed...power for the rear wheels was taken from the
final drive of the 900 gearbox unit and ran directly to a
Ford Atlas axle with a five-link mounting in the rear of the
car...no center diff was used, power split to a fixed 50/50-
the Trollspeed engine developed 400bhp...he was wishing to
compete in the top Division Two class where most cars had
at least 550bhp,by Saab couldn't offer any funding...so I
wonder if this rallycross c900 beast is still growling
somewhere in the Swedish forests?
