2003 9.3 Sedan Transmission Problems

I have a 2003 9.3 Arc 4-Door Sports Sedan Manual 6-Speed and from the very beginning I have had problems with shifting into reverse as one of the problems. I may have to drive forward anywhere from 1 to 4 times...short distances at a time depending on space...before I can get it into reverse (from either first or second gear). Sometimes I let off the brake and it will shift smoothly into reverse. The second problem I have is shifting from 1st to 2nd is very, very rough...not smooth at all. You actually hear a rubbing or bumping sound (not necessarily grinding). It is also rough, but not as rough shifting from 2nd into 3rd or 3rd back into 2nd gear. I have had it to the dealer and they told me this was a problem with the 6-speed manual transmission (and one of the reasons they went back to a 5-speed transmission) and that SAAB did not have a fix for it, even though they were still looking for one. They also said there wouldn't be any damage associated with this problem. Has anyone also had any of these problems and if so, were you able to get them fixed and if so, what did they do to fix it? Any assistance would be appreciated and something I could take back to the dealer to assist them with fixing this problem.
