This is going to be a long post. It is a performance post, a thank you note, and a story about owning a Saab, all at the same time. It was only a few months ago that I really started posting here but I had been coming here for years. When I started posting I was very frustrated with my Saab as I have built two of them and spent years of time and money and was happier with my Dads 1975 911 than my car. I had spent the time and the money to have a nice car and it was not coming together. I was very concerned that as a home builder my house and next few houses will always be for sale and I can not rebuild another car in that environment. I thought I needed a brand new car. I was wrong. At the kit car show in PA there must have been 10 people that told me I was crazy to sell my car. I was very grateful for all the nice things people said about my car and I was feeling better. Then I met Jak and he took me for a ride in his car. Needles to say I was very impressed. Not so much at how dam fast the car was but at how stock the car looked and ran. There was no $1000 front mount, no stand alone management, no crazy super 4” down pipe with titanium muffler bearings and NASA built turbo. Jak looked at my car and said he could make my car very fast “JUST THE WAY IT WAS”. Well I had to see for my self. He was almost right. I did buy $200 in junkyard parts off a Volvo and a set of spark plugs. My car now runs like it never has. And if the thing breaks and my house is for sale I will ship it to Jak!
I have gotten to know more Saab people in the last few months than I had in all my previous Saabing years. I now feel that one of the better parts of owning a Saab is the people. I have been around lots of Porsche, BMW, and Subaru people but I like the Saab people!
My car kicks ass. Thank you Jak!
I would also like to thank a few other people, John at Saabsavior for years of phone calls, Shane for my perfect wheels, and the guys at my local Saab dealer who will sell you parts at cost if you take them enough cookies and donuts. Not to mention all of you here. Thanks. Snipes
