I bought my saab under similar circumstances (I found a 95 900s for 2 grand under blue book and jumped on it) and I have also wondered why, with all the "muscle" cars out there, so many here with enormous resources and mechanical aptitude continue to tweak their saabs...
Don't get me wrong, I love my saab and I am a huge fan. I am fairly new to mechanics so I'd like to know what major advantages saabs have over so many other models that seem to boast much, much larger base HP.
I have noticed that saabs seem to carry a ton of torque... a lot more than most cars I have ever read about. How is it possible that with so little HP, they generate so much torque? Is there no natural relation between the two factors?
I am all for torque over horsepower. I would like to know what has drawn so many others to the cars I love...
In other words, I second this thread... why saabs?
