Well who knows exactly what was 'put in' to the civic.. but he could of started with a K series engine which outputs 225hp OEM and Does reach 300 with an ECU reflash and a Cat removal.. Pricey install though.
Also you really don't seem to comprehend the Real difference a 1000lbs in weight difference does make.. a guess would put it at 150 or so additionall Ponies needed to accelerate that weight to similar speeds as the lighter car.. and as the ET's drop the diffeerence risaes expotentially.
In short yr gonna likely Need 600hp..Plus.. to post 12 sec times with a 3000 lb Saab.
Weight is Everything in Racing.
