This has been bugging me for a while now.
My Father In-Law used to fly and work on airplanes (WWII) with turbo/superchargers, and he eventually owned a mid-60s turbocharged Corvair.
He was emphatic that it was the heat more than the exhaust gas velocity that got the turbo to develop HP. I had assumed it was just the velocity of the gas, but I didn't want to get into any fights ;)
Anyone care to clue me in, or comment??
thanks,
Jonathan
